CLUB HISTORY

A History of the Tradies @ Dickson

The Canberra Tradesmen's Union Club, now fondly known as The Tradies @ Dickson, grew from humble beginnings when it first opened in 1964.

The Club was set up by the Construction Forestry Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU), and was opened to provide a meeting place for members of the community and to house the offices of the ACT Building Unions.

The Club has grown with the community and is subsequently the single largest provider of licensed Club facilities under one roof in the ACT.

The Tradies @ Dickson remains committed to supporting the CFMEU, assisting the community and improving member's services.

The Tradies @ Dickson has always been, and still continues to be, an active and generous supporter of the Canberra community. The list of financial grants, donations and sponsorships is exhaustive, and The Club takes great pride in its involvement with community, sporting events and organizations.
