The Tradies Racing Squad Flies Into Gear
Thursday, 19th May, 2011
The Tradies Racing Squad was launched at the recent Canberra Tour held in May with a generous contribution from The Tradies Group. One of the teams strongest riders, Tom Behrensm was in the running to win the sprint classifications after leading on day one, but was just edged out on the final day after a hard fought battle for the points.
The team currently has a diverse mix of cyclists, including one of Northside Fitness Centre's very own RPM instructors, Michael Christopherson. The team is clearly identifiable on the Canberra roads by the "big T" proudly displayed on the uniforms.
Prior to this, The Tradies Racing Squad members had already amassed impressive results; taking out NSW country handicaps in Wagga Wagga and Stockingbingal and also winning races in Bathurst.
As recently as last weekend, Lyn Vasudeva won her age category at the NSW Masters Championships in Goulburn, NSW ,and as winter looms riders will be taking on the temperatures to compete in a number of races over the winter season. |
