Darts Masters At The Woden Tradies
23.07.12
The Dartplayers Australia Oceanic Masters, the nation's most prestigious darts event, will be contested at The Woden Tradies from the 26th until the 28th of October, 2012. Over 100 of Oceania's best will contest the title over three days with the winner booking a place in the PDC World Darts Championship to be played at the Alexandra Palace in London in December and a shot at a first prize cheque for $400,000.
Canberra champ Russell Stewart, the 2008 Oceania champion, will head the field alongside world number six Simon Whitlock, a two-time winner (2002/2010), and Wollongong's Barry Jouannet (2003/2004). Mitchell Clegg will attempt to add another title to the 2006 crown he won as a 15 year old.
"We are delighted to welcome The Tradies as major sponsor of the 2012 Oceanic Masters," said DPA chairman Kevin Berlyn. "With two locations in Canberra and accommodation facilities, it's a great venue for darts. We're looking forward to a long association with The Tradies and bringing professional darts to Canberra for years to come."
Spectator entry will be free all weekend to watch Australia's best darts players in action.
